Dear colleagues,

I would like to bring the attention of potential candidates on a funding
scheme that might interest doctors in science studies, although it is
primarily meant at Mediterranean studies. As head of a research programme
on the material epistemology and history of social sciences, I would
strongly suggest applications from candidates who might be interested in
participating into its collaborative research.

"Questioning the World: social sciences and their tools (16c-21c)" is an
interdisciplinary investigation on comparative epistemologies, workplaces
and their organisation, as well as political implications, through the
material instruments of the different social sciences, I welcome proposals
that would fit the project, with a view to officially get support for such
applications.
The successful candidate would then be hosted by the Centre Norbert Elias
(Ecole des hautes études en sciences sociales in Marseille) and benefit
from its international environment.

The call for applications goes well beyond the suggested programme on the
material epistemology and history of social sciences. It can be found - in
French and English here:
http://labexmed.mmsh.univ-aix.fr/Appels/Appel%20contrats%20post-doctoraux_LabexMed_2015.pdf

The scheme is meant at funding excellent post-doctoral research dealing
with the Mediterranean on the following topics, out of two are of major
interest for "Questioning the World" programme.

1. Production, Systems, Circulation, Interdependency
2. Socio-?Environmental Dynamics
3. Knowledge, Techniques, Languages
4. Heritage, Stakes,Practices, Representations
5. States,Rights,Belonging
Criteria include: PhD or doctorate gained after 1/9/2011 abroad - in case
of a French doctorate, postdoctoral experience abroad is necessary.

The candidate must have proven record of research and precise and personal
research programme: the offer about participating into "Questioning the
World" collaborative research is not meant at covering need for research
assistance, but to enrich the collective investigation with non-French and
complementary perspectives on social sciences - from psychology to
anthropology.

As head of programme, I am likely to help the prerparation of an
application which would express interest about participating into
"Questioning the World" - such as:

helping out with providing a Mediterranean dimension of a project ion
material epistemology and history of one or different social science
    including?
the candidate into our research collaborative discussions with a view
to provide insights into collections, bibliographies and contacts which the
candidate would need to finalize her application
    reading the application
? in order to help the candidate comply with local expectancies?
approaching heads of research centers to help the candidate get letters
of support, if necessary.

Potential candidates may contact me with short CV and presentation of
research programme.

With kind regards,

Christelle Rabier
