Salary: £28,982 to £35,609 per annum
Full Time Fixed Term - 3 years 7 months
Closing Date: Friday 29 July 2016
Reference: 752416F4

Applications are invited for two fixed term (3 years, 7 months)
post-doctoral research fellowships in association with Dr Elselijn
Kingma’s ERC-funded research project ‘Better Understanding the
Metaphysics of Pregnancy’. [ http://www.southampton.ac.uk/philosophy/research/projects/bump.page
] The post-holders will be expected to devote the majority of their time to
the research project, and teach one course per year.
The successful candidate will have excellent research skills; an
enthusiastic and collaborative personality; and the ability to carry out a
programme of research that falls within the scope of the proposed research
project. There is a defeasible preference for candidates with an AOS in
metaphysics and/or philosophy of biology/the life-sciences and/or feminist
philosophy, but any candidate who can make a case for their background
and/or envisioned research contributing to the research project will be
given full consideration, and is warmly encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will ideally have a PhD in a relevant subject area
by the date of appointment, or at least will have submitted their thesis.
It is hoped that the candidate will be able to take up the post on the 26th
of September 2016, but this is negotiable.
