Recrutement d’un.e postdoctorant.e en histoire des mathématiques avec mission patrimoniale Le département de mathématiques recherche de l'Université Paris-Saclay offrira un postdoctorat de 2 ans, à partir d'octobre 2019, assorti d'une mission de mise en valeur du patrimoine commun des laboratoires qui le constituent. Un premier travail a été effectué à l'occasion du déménagement du LMO : interviews de personnes de différents âges et statuts ayant étudié ou exercé au département de mathématiques d'Orsay, réunis dans un webdoc disponible ici : https://www.math.u-psud.fr/inauguration À ces vidéos centrées sur le site d'Orsay, il conviendra d'ajouter des témoignages relatant les liens étroits et anciens qui unissent certains des laboratoires du département. Il s'agit de guider le cinéaste, dans la continuité des réalisations existantes. D'autre part, il faut enrichir ces témoignages par des textes issus d'une recherche et d'une analyse rigoureuse de documents. Cette tâche représentera 1/6 du travail (soit l'équivalent d'un service de moniteur), à accomplir en complément d'un travail de recherche personnel. Le profil cherché est celui d'un spécialiste de l'histoire des mathématiques, et notamment du XXème siècle. La personne sera recrutée par l’Université Paris-Sud, elle disposera d’un bureau à l’Institut de Mathématique d’Orsay. Elle gardera toute liberté dans son activité de recherche personnelle. When it moved to new premises, one of the labs (Orsay math department) produced a webdoc https://www.math.u-psud.fr/inauguration collecting interviews of people of various ages and status who have worked or studied math in Orsay. These videos are Orsay-centered. It is time to add accounts of the ancient and solid links between the various math labs of Paris-Saclay. First, expert guidance should be provided to the film director. Second, the oral accounts should be enriched with texts elaborated from a rigorous search and analysis of sources. This task will represent 1/6 of the postdoc’s working load ; it should be complemented with a personal research activity (no teaching involved). The expected candidates should be specialists of history of mathematics, preferably with a focus on the XXth century. The laureate will be hired by Université Paris-Sud. He or she will have office space at Orsay (near Paris), and will keep total freedom regarding his or her personal research agenda.
