Call for a tenure-track position as Researcher (type-B) in History of
Science 

at the Department of Human Studies at the University of L’Aquila, Italy.

 

The position formally falls within the macro-sector (“settore
concorsuale”)

11/C2 (Logic, History, and Philosophy of Science)

and the micro-sector (“settore scientifico-disciplinare”)

M-STO/05 (History of Science ).

 

Requirements to apply (info for those who are not familiar with the Italian
system)

 

1) Italian Ph.D. or one declared to be equivalent by Italian minister
(presenting the receipt of the request for such equivalence is sufficient).


2a) Habilitation as associate / full professor, awarded by an Italian
committee of experts (ASN) on the basis of the candidate’s publication
records

Or

2b) three years of stipendiary post-doc/research position/teaching position

 

Candidates are expected to be able to pursue original and innovative
research and possess an excellent track record of publications at the
international level. 

 

The successful candidate will frontally teach 60 hours per year, plus exam
weeks.

Teaching is in Italian as is academic life.

In addition, the candidate is expected to hold weekly office hours, to
supervise BA and MA students, to participate in thesis committees and
departmental meetings, with a time budget of up to 350 hours per year
(in-class teaching included).
